About Laurie Morgan

Laurie Morgan LAURIE MORGAN - Commissions Welcomed “Painting became a true love after years in the entertainment field. I get a thrill rendering on canvas the sights I see in my travels around the world. I’m intrigued by historical architecture and most of my work contains part of a house, castle, cottage, cabin, barn or other structure. Many of my paintings have windows or doors, arches and pathways. These mean to me ‘adventure, surprise and levels of spirituality’. I’m fascinated by man’s use of natural substances such as, stone, brick, wood and often add these to my work as well. Equally I love flowers and gardens and try to include them wherever I can; often inspired by my own garden.” Laurie’s art has been exhibited at The Gallery of Santa Clarita, Santa Clarita City Hall, La Galeria Gitana, Santa Paula Gallery, Teacision Valencia, Lonny Chapman Theatre and JET Studios in NoHo, Canyon Theatre Guild and The Main in Newhall, Fast Frame Valencia, and other art fairs and shows throughout LA County. Her work is in personal collections worldwide. She creates in pastels, watercolor, acrylic and oil. ***2020 – Awarded Merit in Dry Media Category at the SCAA Annual Art Classic for “The Piper” ***2017 - Awarded Merit in Dry Media Category at the SCAA Annual Art Classic for "Red, Ripe and Ready" ***2016 - Awarded 1st Place in Dry Media Category at the SCAA Annual Art Classic for "A Whiter Shade of Pale" in soft pastel ***2012 - Awarded Certificate of Merit in Dry Media Category at the SCAA Annual Art Classic for "Love My Lhasa" in oil pastel. “I truly love to perform and to create art – I’m not quite sure which I enjoy the most! But most importantly to me, whether I’m singing, acting or creating a painting, is how I’m able to touch people’s lives. With my arts I have been blessed to be able to turn strangers into friends, and I am sincerely grateful for this gift.”
