Description
Another Scottish landscape. Can't help it, I just fell in love with the place! There is a bit of sadness in this field. The beautiful wide open space was actually the site of a terrible battle between the British and Scots. The battle of Culloden was the final confrontation of the Jacobite rising of 1745 and part of a religious civil war in Britain. On 16 April 1746, the Jacobite forces of Charles Edward Stuart were defeated by loyalist troops near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.
