Artist's Description
Rancho Camulos on the borders of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties in California, USA, on the 126 Highway, has been slowly but surely excavating and renovating. Originally a part of huge land grant by the Mexican government to the Del Valle family in the early 1800's, it changed hands in the 1930's. The compound is chock full of historic buildings, including this one. Many artists congregate for the famous plein aire paint out day sometime in April of each year. For a small donation you can partake in the breakfast and luncheon before during and after painting.

I’m fascinated by man’s use of natural substances such as, stone, brick, wood and often add these to my work as well. Equally I love flowers and gardens and try to include them wherever I can; often inspired by my own garden.” Laurie’s art has been exhibited at The Gallery...
