Visiting Lake Tahoe and surrounding areas, I took a side trip to Virginia City. While most of the town is restored, parts of it are still abandoned and look like a Ghost town. I juxtaposed some parts to create this little piece of a ghost town. Using yupo paper and soft tints of watercolors, I made it look old, weathered and abandoned.
LAURIE MORGAN - Commissions Welcomed “Painting became a true love after years in the entertainment field. I get a thrill rendering on canvas the sights I see in my travels around the world. I’m intrigued by historical architecture and most of my work contains part of a house, castle, cottage, cabin, barn or other structure. Many of my paintings have windows or doors, arches and pathways. These mean to me ‘adventure, surprise and levels of spirituality’. I’m fascinated by man’s use of natural substances such as, stone, brick, wood and often add these to my work as well. Equally I love flowers and gardens and try to include them wherever I can; often inspired by my own garden.” Laurie’s art has been exhibited at The Gallery...
