Every spring, if we get enough rain, the hills northern LA county abound with lupines and poppies. The sea of purple and orange is a fantastic sight to behold. This painting is just a tiny portion of the surrounding hills covered with purple. Photographs from the area show it off. I wanted a little up close and personal view for this work. This is near the public trails in Placerita Canyon in the Santa Clarita Valley in LA county.
