I love stalk flowers and I think hollyhocks may be my favorite. Maybe gladioli are tied for first place. I have some hollyhocks growing in a pot in my yard. This one is from a photo I took at Rancho Camulos on a plein air paint out day. My hollyhocks bloom at the beginning of summer; hence "harbinger". After I finished the watercolor, I added a little bit of green and pink pen to enhance the edges.
